    If you are wondering what this blog is all about... this is how it goes......

Red Shift Racing is the name of an off-roading racing team that competes with other teams from all around the world in U.S.A. This team is not made up of professional race engineers from F1, NASCAR, or their likes. This is a team of engineering students from the disciplines of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of K.J. Somaiya College Of Engineering, Vidyavihar, Mumbai.

    The Society of Automobile Engineers(SAE) organizes such events known as BAJA Series, where engineering students from varsities all over the world form a team and design and fabricate an off-road car and compete amongst each other. The cars are run through rugged terrains during the competition which tests the ability of the car to withstand the harshest of the obstacles -that an ideal off-road car is expected to have.( You can find more about BAJA over the internet)

     And yes, we are one of the teams participating in such an event, representing our country and college, 2012 being the first year for Red Shift Racing in BAJA Series held in Alabama, U.S.A.

     Such events are of great importance, as it carves out an all-rounder in you, who after completion of his/her graduation not only becomes apt with technical knowledge of their field, but also imbibes management and leadership skills, which are of utmost importance in this competitive world. Members of Red Shift Racing have to go through tremendous hardships as they have to take care of their work on the car and studies as well because, we are still students remember? But that is not an excuse enough to stop us working for the car and quench our thirst to follow our ambitious dreams.

This where management and taking responsibilities come into picture. Knowing it is very difficult to manage studies and such extra-curricular at the same time....why do we still do it???

 The answer to it is very simple......its our passion!!!!!!!

      Anyway, this is just an introduction to Red Shift Racing. More posts about the team and its activities will come up here very soon.
